DCF-fluorescence intensity in H9c2 cells after treatment with DOX in presence or absence of NACA. Cells were seeded in 24-well plates at a density of 1 × 105cell/well. Cells were treated with or without NACA for 2 h. Then the cell medium was discarded and freshly prepared cell medium containing 5 μM DOX in presence or absence of 750 μM NACA was used to treat the cells for a period of 24 h. The results are presented as percent of the DCF-fluorescence observed in the control group. Values are mean ± SD from three independent experiments performed in quadruplicate. Significance indicated by: *p < 0.05 compared to control group; ** p < 0.05 compared to the DOX-only group.
