AICAR activates the pluripotency transcriptional network in mESC. Murine embryonic stem cells were exposed to 1 mM AICAR for 72 h. AICAR induced upregulation of the master regulators of pluripotency Nanog and Oct4 and of the pluripotency related transcription factors Klf4, Klf2, Myc and Sox2. Taqman real time quantitative PCR.
