  1. Animals were intranasally challenged with 0.3, 0.5 or 1 mg/kg of LPS or PBS alone (50 μl). Twenty four hours after the challenge, animals were sacrificed and bronchoalveolar lavage performed. Data are expressed as mean ± SEM 6 mice per group. Significance, (P < 0.05) indicated by (*) is versus PBS-challenged mice.
